Vehicle History & Condition

This is a new condition, last production year 240Z. The car was purchased from the second owner who moved to Colorado from California. The vehicle had no rust and is an all numbers matching car. The car was parked when the odometer turned 00000 (exactly), was completely dismantled and restored from the ground up with all original Nissan/Datsun new old stock parts, including parts not easily visible, i.e. under fender weather stripping, carpet jute, headlight buckets, etc., etc.. etc.

Originally planned as a V8 conversion, the lack of any rust on the floor pans, frame rails and body panels and that it was an all numbers matching car, demanded it stay original. There are minor modification upgrades, but nothing that cannot be returned to pure stock easily.

It has 550 miles since restoration (also on the odometer). It has won many awards, including the prestigious Nissan "Gold Medallion" award in the 9th Annual National Z Car Convention Concours D’ Elegance, plus 1st Place, Best Exterior and Best of Show at the same event, and nothing less than 1st place in any show it had been entered.

The exterior is perfect. The same is true for the interior and drive train. The compression is within a pound of each cylinder. The vehicle has the original radio and everything including clock and antenna work properly. The underside is as good as the topside, no patchwork on the floor pan or frame rails, it is a totally rust free, extremely solid example and currently show ready.

Modification Detail

All inner metal panels were very thoroughly cleaned, inspected and undercoated for added soundproofing and rust proofing (some photos of assembly available). All parts polished prior to assembly. The interior transmission tunnel and strut towers were carpeted for additional sound proofing and the seats were done in glove leather instead of vinyl. It has a Motorsport header and exhaust system, 1970 SU carburetors & manifold and SL Magnus 15" wheels with Toyo Tires. The air cleaner and cam cover were wrinkle finished in black. Also installed is a lower ratio rear differential.

All modifications can be changed back to pure stock. Vinyl seat covers and the original style vinyl covering for the transmission tunnel and strut towers are available. Included are the original carburetors, air cleaner and manifold, exhaust manifold, steel wheels and rear differential (the extra parts are not restored).

The car scored 297 of a possible 300 points at the 9th Annual National Z-Car Convention. The items responsible for the 3-point reduction have been corrected since the show, so it should be a 300-point of 300 points car.
